Horizon

This piece asks the viewer to interpret this as a sunrise, or a sunset.   Do you anticipate the dawning of a new day, or do you reflect on the past days events and bask in the warmth of fond memories?   The piece is white marble with an inset of pink marble for the sun and its reflection.

Horizon is roughly10 inches by 5 inches and weighs roughly 10 pounds.

Wedding rings

From the earliest times, a ring has been a symbol of completeness and eternity.  Like time, it has no beginning and no end.  Like life, it returns to itself.  The hole in the center of a ring is not just space but rather a pathway to the future.

Carved from white Vermont marble, these interlocked rings are approximately 7 inches outside diameter and weigh approximately 10 pounds.

Interlocking white marble rings

Each ring is approximately 6 inches in length.   Stone rings are symbolic of lifelong commitment and unbreakable bonds.  This construct is four interlocking rings representing a close family structure.

Alabaster abstract

The near cubic shape with cutouts in five sides gives a constantly changing view of the patterns and colors of this piece.   I like to consider it as analogous to evaluating a new idea or belief that constantly changes as I consider it from all sides.   This piece is mounted on a 7”x7”x2” thick white marble base, and stands approximately 10” high.   Weight is approximately 20 pounds.

Missing Pieces

This white marble piece is 2” thick and sits 20” high on a Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry Wood) base, and weighs approximately 40 pounds.    It’s a reminder that completeness is an illusion.   We all live with uncertainty, don’t wait for everything to be perfect,  “Carpe Diem”.
